Frequently asked questions
What is Pagewise?
Pagewise is a free web app that turns any webpage into a clear, structured AI summary. Paste a link and get the gist in seconds — then ask follow-up questions about the page or share a read-only summary with anyone.
How does Pagewise work?
Paste a URL and pick a summary depth (Brief, Detailed, or ELI5). Pagewise fetches the page's readable text, sends it to Claude, and streams back a concise summary. You can then ask questions that are answered only from that page's content.
Is Pagewise free to use?
Yes. Pagewise is free and works without an account.
Which AI model does Pagewise use?
Pagewise uses Anthropic's Claude to generate summaries and answer questions, with answers grounded strictly in the page you provided rather than the model's general knowledge.
Can I ask questions about a page?
Yes. After a summary is generated, open the chat panel and ask follow-up questions. Answers come only from the page's content — if something isn't on the page, Pagewise says so instead of guessing.
Can I share a summary?
Yes. Any summary can become a read-only public link that anyone can open, with no account needed to read it. You can revoke the link at any time.
What kinds of pages can it summarize?
Public HTML pages such as articles, blog posts, research papers, and documentation. Pages behind logins or paywalls, and non-HTML files like PDFs or images, aren't supported.
Do I need to create an account?
No. Pagewise works anonymously out of the box — just paste a link and start summarizing.
